My life has been shaped by moments that could have broken me—but instead, they birthed a new me.

In 2007, I was struck by a car and nearly lost my life. After months of rehabilitation and a full recovery, I came to a powerful realization: God had more for me to do. That moment forced me to slow down and truly reflect on why I was still here.

Just a few years earlier, at 19, I had my first child. Before the age of 25, I had already faced both extremes of the human experience—standing at the edge of death while also witnessing the miracle of bringing life into the world. Those experiences at such a young age reshaped the way I saw everything.

They taught me to look beyond what’s visible. Beyond what’s said. Beyond what’s easy.

My father always told me, “If you look hard enough, you can find the positive in every negative situation.” That wisdom became a foundation for me. I began to embrace life as it came—understanding that every challenge carried a lesson.

As life continued, I welcomed two more children. Their births changed the trajectory of my life in profound ways. Around that same time, I struggled financially and emotionally. There were moments when I couldn’t even see my children. It felt like everything I had built was falling apart.

But I remembered who I was becoming.
I remembered what I had already survived.

Those early life experiences became the very strength I leaned on during my darkest moments. I reminded myself—if you look hard enough, you will find the positive in every negative situation.

During this season of trials, I found myself asking God, “Why is this happening to me?” And the response I felt was clear:
“I have you in training.”

Training for what—I didn’t yet know. But that answer changed everything. I stopped resisting life and started learning from it. My perspective shifted. I became more spiritually connected. And slowly, my life began to change.

One pivotal moment came during a birthday trip to Atlanta, Georgia, with close friends. What started as a simple road trip turned into something much deeper—an open, honest conversation that felt like therapy for all of us. We shared stories, perspectives, pain, and growth. In that space, we all gained clarity through one another.

That conversation sparked something bigger.

That moment gave birth to MINDSi.

MINDSi exists to expand perspective—to help people see beyond their circumstances, reframe their struggles, and recognize that even their hardest moments may be preparing them for something greater.
